A Love Affair with Spring Flowers!

I love the idea of growing my own flowers and nothing could be easier than growing spring bulbs. Each year, I buy bulbs in the late fall and sometimes if I am lucky, I pick them up for a steal. What makes it easy to plant these bulbs in the hard clay are the raised beds — the smartest thing I did in my garden.

Come Spring, it is exciting to watch the bulbs peek out of the soil and burgeon into amazing beauties. When they are ready for picking, I cut and bring them indoors. They dazzle in any container and look endlessly beautiful. The bounty from my garden really pumps up my joie de vivre. I am in a better mood and it is impossible to stop smiling every time I glance at them.

I hope these flowers make you smile too!

I cut mine for indoors too. I also bring the bulbs in in Fall to force them.

I have tried that a few years ago but didn’t work for me. I don’t remember the reason for that — either the garage was too cold or too warm. Perhaps I’ll try it again in the Fall.
